Diane von Furstenburg

Diane has just recently landed on Singaporean shores, to open the show for Singapore Fashion Week(SFW). The CFDA president will be showcasing her fall/winter 2015 collection for eager crowds. Diane is best known for her iconic wrap dress; ever versatile, always chic. Diane exudes an exuberance that seeps its way into her collections, providing us with stunning numbers for the everyday empowered woman.

Paying homage to what’s to come of SFW, let’s take a look back at DVF’s FW15 ready to wear line, debuted earlier on valentine’s day this year. The collection showcased two different sides of the DVF woman, commanding her world by day, and inspiring fantasy by night. The collection is undeniably sexy, while managing to dance its way from being flirty & feminine, to rugged & structured. Definitive lines are drawn within the collection, yet each individual contrasting characteristic manages to compliment the other; making for sheer perfection.

Diane’s message of strength is always seen (and heard) from her collections, and this collection marches strongly to that very tune. A woman is beautiful, a woman is sexy, and a woman can be who she wants to be. Flirty and flowy in romantic chiffon, bold and  beautiful in a pant-suit, and deliciously seductive in lace and cut outs with nods to nights spent in the boudoir.

The DVF label is an extension of Diane, in her self aware, confident and lively aura. Watching DVF and her collections come to life is exciting, and she continues to wow after all her years in the industry.

What are your takes on the fall/winter 2015 line? And how many of you are inspired by DVF?

PS. I would sell a limb for the pant suit number.
